Gerard House is a home for pregnant teenagers and young women that provides a safe, caring, supportive place for women choosing to give birth as they decide whether to keep and raise the child or place it with an adoptive couple.
The Gerard House ministry is sponsored by the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and the Congregation of St. Joseph and their local mission, Via Christi Hospital. It offers on-site Lamaze and parenting classes, tutoring for those still in school and instruction in basic life skills such as meal preparation and housekeeping in order to help women transition to life outside the home. Psychological, spiritual and adoption counseling are also available to Gerard House residents.
