The mission of the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County is to promote the safety, health and emotional well-being of abused children and their caregivers by bringing together public, private and community partners.

  • Founded on the belief that no single agency or professional alone can serve and treat child abuse – a multidisciplinary team response is necessary.
  • Professionals represent prosecution, medical, therapeutic, law enforcement, social services and advocacy agencies.
  • Dedicated to being developmentally and culturally sensitive to each child’s needs.
  • Collaboration between the center and its partner agencies is designed to serve the child’s best interest.

The primary function of the CACSC is to serve as the umbrella agency pulling multiple community agencies together to enhance collaboration and communication throughout the child abuse investigation process while improving support services to children and families. The purpose of the CACSC is to provide a comprehensive, culturally competent, multidisciplinary team response to child abuse in a dedicated, child-focused setting.
