The Wichita Children’s Home offers the only emergency, temporary residential shelter for children in our community.

Their services include but are not limited to:

• Crisis intervention
• Medical care
• Family mediation
• Parent education
• Peer counseling
• Case management 
• Behavior modification
• Round-the-clock victim counseling
• Street outreach to homeless and at-risk youth
• Drug and alcohol abuse education, prevention and counseling
• Life-skills training and assistance in preparing for and obtaining employment

WCH staff attends to each child’s immediate needs, providing a warm bath, nutritious food, clean clothes and medical care. Although more than 2,000 children are admitted each year, the Home’s mission extends beyond providing only crisis intervention services. At WCH, their services are comprehensive and outcome-oriented, with an eye to creating stronger individuals and healthier families.
